El 19 de septiembre de 2017, Incipe celebr\u00f3 un Desayuno de Trabajo titulado La pol\u00edtica exterior de Francia tras la elecci\u00f3n del Presidente Macron, frente a los desaf\u00edos globales y europeos<\/em>. En esta ocasi\u00f3n se cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n del Excmo. Embajador de Francia en Espa\u00f1a, Yves Saint-Geours. Durante el encuentro se pusieron de relieve las principales metas de la agenda del gobierno franc\u00e9s en cuanto a la pol\u00edtica exterior y c\u00f3mo Francia puede contribuir a la implementaci\u00f3n de soluciones para alcanzar la estabilidad y paz global<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Como la quinta potencia mundial, Francia posee una gran responsabilidad en cuanto a la seguridad global<\/strong>, cuyo objetivo es mantener y extender los valores democr\u00e1ticos a trav\u00e9s de diplomacia y cooperaci\u00f3n con sus m\u00faltiples aliados a trav\u00e9s del globo. Principalmente, las amenazas a las que se enfrenta el pa\u00eds no solamente afectan a Francia, sino a los otros pa\u00edses del espacio europeo y el resto del mundo. Por ello es vital una cooperaci\u00f3n cercana con el resto de miembros de la Uni\u00f3n Europea, OTAN y el di\u00e1logo en el marco de las Naciones Unidas.<\/p>\n

Actualmente nos enfrentamos a un orden internacional marcado por la multiplicaci\u00f3n de las crisis que amenazan la estabilidad del continente europeo y su prosperidad. En este contexto, Francia juega un papel fundamental, promoviendo la acci\u00f3n colectiva y la cooperaci\u00f3n internacional<\/strong>. En su agenda ha dispuesto cuatro prioridades para frenar el terrorismo y el problema migratorio: atajar la ra\u00edz del terrorismo, frenar el uso de armas qu\u00edmicas, apertura de una v\u00eda humanitaria segura y s\u00f3lida y estabilidad pol\u00edtica en las regiones inestables.<\/p>\n

Por otro lado, tambi\u00e9n nos encontramos en un periodo marcado por la globalizaci\u00f3n y la digitalizaci\u00f3n y Francia tiene el objetivo de salvaguardar sus intereses no solo dentro de sus propias fronteras. Recientes ciberataques ponen de manifiesto la necesidad de prestar atenci\u00f3n al mundo digital y a los riesgos que contempla esta amenaza transnacional. Asimismo, el medio ambiente supone un desaf\u00edo a tener en cuenta.<\/p>\n

Finalmente, Francia est\u00e1 y estar\u00e1 plenamente comprometida con el proyecto europeo como el propio Presidente Macron ha se\u00f1alado. Pero para ello es necesario acercar las instituciones europeas a los ciudadanos y realizar importantes reformas que otorguen solidez.<\/p>\n

Para finalizar el encuentro se debatieron cuestiones como la reforma del Consejo de Seguridad de las Naciones Unidas, la gobernanza econ\u00f3mica, la cooperaci\u00f3n con Espa\u00f1a en materia antiterrorista o la presencia francesa en el Sahel.<\/p>\n

\nOn September 19th, 2017, INCIPE held a Work Breakfast entitled Foreign Policy in France After the Election of President Macron: Facing Global and European Challenges<\/em>. At this occasion, the participation of the Honorable French Ambassador to Spain, Yves Saint-Geours, was much anticipated. During the meeting, the importance of chief goals regarding foreign policy on the French government\u2019s agenda were set, and how France is able to contribute to the implementation of solutions to achieve global stability and peace.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the \u2018fifth world power\u2019, France has a great responsibility regarding global security<\/strong>, in which its objective is to maintain and extend democratic values, through diplomacy and cooperation, with its many allies throughout the globe. Principally, the threats that face the country not only affect France, but the other countries in Europe and the rest of the world as well. Because of this, a close cooperation with the rest of European Union members, NATO, and a dialogue within the framework of the United Nations is vital.<\/p>\n

Currently we face an international order marked by the multiplication of crises that threaten the stability of the European continent and its prosperity. In this context, France plays a fundamental role, promoting collective action and international cooperation<\/strong>. It has prepared four priorities on its agenda in order to curb terrorism and the migrant problem: contain the root of terrorism, put a stop to the use of chemical weapons, the opening of a safe and reliable humanitarian track, and political stability in unstable regions.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, we also find ourselves in a period marked by globalization and digitalization, and France aims to safeguard its interests, and not just within its own borders. Recent cyberattacks have shown the necessity of paying attention to the digital world and the risks of this transnational threat. At the same time, the environment is also a challenge to keep in mind.<\/p>\n

Finally, France is and will be thoroughly committed to the European project, as President Macron himself has indicated. But for this project, it will be necessary to bring together European institutions and citizens to carry out important reforms that confer strength. <\/p>\n

To end the meeting, those present debated issues such as the reforming of the Security Council of the United Nations, economic governance, cooperation with Spain in antiterrorism measures, or French presence in the Sahel.<\/p>\n
