With an optimistic outlook, he expressed confidence in the swift recovery of both countries after the crisis and praised the significant progress made by various pharmaceutical companies in vaccine production, acknowledging their crucial contribution to overcoming the disease.
He then delved into three areas he considers vital: technology, terrorism, and the relationship between Spain and the United States. Regarding technology, he advocated for increased investment, urging the United States and its allies to collaborate closely in this area. On terrorism, he recognized its negative impact on economic growth and national security but maintained an optimistic perspective about the ability to address this challenge. Concerning the bilateral relations between Spain and the United States, he emphasized Spain’s international role as a country full of opportunities, highlighting its positive impact on the global community.
The event concluded with a debate where participants posed questions and reflected on different ways to strengthen transatlantic relations, as well as concerns about the potential decline of U.S. influence in the face of China. The future role of the Republican Party in national and international politics was also discussed.
